What does Pro Access stand for? Providing Teens with Access to a world of opportunities and Providing the Community with Access to a world of teens.
What is Pro Access? Pro Access is the Bethel Teen Center.
What is the mission of Pro Access? To provide a safe place and create a positive environment for youth to grow and develop into mature responsible young adults
Where is Pro Access located? On the bottom floor of the Municipal Center. Entrance to Pro Access is through the back parking lot of the municipal center.
How will Pro Access accomplish its mission? By providing a wide variety of programs and activities geared towards teens. Most activities will be available throughout Bethel or its surrounding towns. Trips are also provided to venues in and outside of CT.
What is the foundation work for Pro Access based on? The 40 Developmental Assets developed by the Search Institute. You can go on the Search Institute’s website at www.search-institute.org to learn about these assets.
Who can participate in Pro Access activities? Bethel residents in grades 7th through 12.
Will high school students be involved in activities with middle school students? In some instances, there will be separate activities for these groups but there are also programs and events where the groups are mixed.
On the calendar it says “Pro Access Opened” and times are listed, what happens during that time? Members hang out at Pro Access playing pool, ping-pong, or any of the other games we have. We also have a large screen TV, computer room and snacks for sale.
Can students leave and come back whenever they want? Members sign-in when they first arrive to Pro Access. They must be signed-out when they leave. Once they leave, they can not return that day. If students are being picked up at a different location from Pro Access, parents must notify a staff person of this when they drop them off and we will then allow your child to leave.
Who runs Pro Access? Hilda Maria DeLucia is the Director. She reports to the Bethel First Selectman and the Bethel Youth Commission. Claudia Fortunato is the Assistant Director.
Why is there a membership application? Most Pro Access activities will be available to “members only”. The application asks for pertinent information such as contact, emergency and medical information. It also outlines the membership rules. Individuals can come to one program without filling out the form. The next time they attend a program they have to submit the completed membership form and the application fee. New membership fee is $25 and renewal membership fee is $10. Membership is from July 1 to June 30.
Will there be chaperones at events? Yes. The Director and/or Assistant Director attend all programs. Depending on the event a Police Officer and/or additional volunteers may also be on hand.
